Sameena Rahman, M.D., FACOG,MSCP,! IF , is a board certified OBGYN with an academic affiliation as Clinical Assistant Professor of OBGYN at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. She has a solo concierge practice, GYN and Sexual Medicine Collective and has tailored her practice to meet the needs of women for midlife and sexual health. After years of practicing obstetrics and gynecology in a variety of large academic settings and locations (USC, U OF Chicago, NORTHWESTERN) she initially started her insurance based sexmed gynecology and menopause practice, focused on her special areas of interest to ensure patients have the best quality of life in downtown Chicago. Now, through her partnership with the Ms. Medicine Network, she pivoted her practice toward a concierge care model and works as the Medical Director for Gynecology for Ms. Medicine, as well as serving on the educational board for HERmedicine to educate thousands of clinicians nationwide. Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Rahman attended Duke University for her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology where she also specialized in Women’s Studies. She then continued in her home state at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her medical degree. As women’s health care and women’s issues have always been at the forefront of her concerns, she moved north for her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Massachusetts. Through her research and dedication, Dr. Rahman is an ISSWSH (International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health ) Fellow (IF) and actively involved with cutting-edge approaches to sexual pain and sexual dysfunction. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors for ISSWSH and is their current Scientific Committee Chair. She also serves on many other committees, including the Educational Committee, Fellowship Committee, and serves as faculty member for the Fall Course at ISSWSH. She is an international speaker and has spoken at conferences worldwide with the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) and the World Sexual Medicine Meeting, including presenting in the Middle East in Dubai and South America in Brazil. She is also an active member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). She has received a number of Golden Apple Teaching Awards for her work educating medical students around the country and worldwide. She has published extensively on cultural bias /implicit bias in medicine, Muslim women and sexual dysfunction, South Asian women in sexual dysfunction and implementing female sexual medicine into medical school curricula. She has a podcast, Gynogirl Presents Sex, Drugs and Hormones, where she educates so her listeners can advocate for their health and has an upcoming book that will be released this year, "BROWN GIRLS DISEASE"? A GUIDE TO SEXUAL HEALTH AND EMPOWERMENT THROUGH A SOUTH ASIAN LENS.
