The certifying body, the Menopause Society, was formerly called NAMS, so “NAMS certified” refers to this same credential. It is awarded after a competency exam on menopause management and has to be maintained, which is why it is the one qualification this directory filters on.
It is a marker of focus, not a ranking of skill. Plenty of excellent clinicians treat menopause without it, and holding it does not guarantee a good fit for you. Read it as one signal among several, alongside what a practitioner treats and how they are paid. More on what certification means.
