How concentrated is the supply?
Of 5,209 listed US practitioners across 53 states and territories, 1,735 are in just five states — 33% of the national total. California alone holds more listings than the twenty thinnest states combined.

What this does and does not measure
These are listings, not clinicians per head of population. A state with few listings may still have good local care that simply is not on either register. The figure worth acting on is the practical one: if your state appears in the second table, widen the search to telehealth before concluding there is nobody available.
Method and limits
Every figure on this page is counted directly from the Later Spring directory, which is compiled from two public professional registers. It measures listed practitioners, not all practitioners: clinicians who treat (peri)menopause without joining either register are not counted, so these numbers are a floor, not a census. Fields such as areas of expertise and telehealth availability are self-declared.
